Goals

The goal of the Austrian Academy for Sexual Medicine (OEASM) is the advancement of scientific interdisciplinary research in sexual medicine, instruction and continuing education with particular focus on relational and communication-centered (“syndyastic”) approach in sexual therapy meaning its theoretical backgrounds and particular styles of treatment. This also means the advancement in public health care in the areas of partnership, sexuality and family planning, as well as the internationally recognized resarch according to the current scientific standards and the sponsorship of the Austrian Academy of Sexual Medicine (abbreviated OEASM).

This goal is achieved by:

The encouragement, advancement and coordination of research and education in sexual medicine.
The propagation of sexual medical knowledge by work in both the professional field and with the public society, as well as the facilitation of contact between those already active in sexual medicine / therapy in the form of a forum for information and communication.
The development of national and international congresses to present the most recent knowledge and increase the awareness of the topic and all its facets in doctors, the media and the public.
The collaboration with other national and international sexual research societies.
The close collaboration with the Department for Sexual Medicine in Salzburg’s Medical Association.

Legal and Corporation Status:
The Austrian Academy for Sexual Medicine is run as an incorporated association and is a non-profit organization.
